Kraft again

I don't know about you, but I am loving Kraft cardstock at the moment, it is so great as a background piece for scrapbook layouts :) And on that note, here is my next layout.

This layout is for this weeks Sketchy Thursday's sketch, which was a really fantastic sketch. Here it is.

It was such a good sketch as it was challenging, it struck me as quite a difficult sketch at first as there isn't much to it, and I enjoyed the challenge.

One of the first things that I noticed was the long journaling space. I have recently found Miss Smith via ukscrappers Scrap Factor contest and absolutely love her scrapbooking, especially the brilliant journaling she does. I wanted to try it, I wanted to tell a story in my own handwriting directly onto the layout, so I did. I found a photo that had a story to tell and gave it a go. I am really pleased with how it looks,  I planned the writing beforehand so I didn't make any mistakes when copying it up onto the layout. Thanks Miss Smith, your journaling and gorgeous layouts gave me a lot of inspiration.

I ripped circles from paper and have stitched circles slightly off line to include the circle elements of the sketch.

Here are a couple of close ups of the layout. :)

This layout tells the story of an amazing weekend last December when all of my cousins gathered to celebrate our Grannie's 80th birthday. I've titled it 'For one weekend only' as it was only the second time we have all been together at once, due to two of my cousins living in Australia :)

I hope you like it :)
I am just going to take this opportunity to thank the Sketchy Thursday's team for picking me as a fave 4 times now, I cannot believe it and feel very proud to have been selected from all of the talent that is entered into their challenge. Thanks :)

Bye for now,

Eeek, thanks for the mention! I love what you did with the sketch - the layered details and hand stitching look gorgeous. I love the whole style and journalling :D

I really liked your layout - the layering, the brown tones with splashes of brighter colour and the handwritten journaling. I think it is one of the most important things on a layout - its amazing how quickly you forget the little details if you don't record them. I like Miss Smith's style too. I've learned a lot from her.
